Spending time with pets can help tackle loneliness, stress and depression. Animals make great companions that offer unconditional care and attention. Pets also help those with dementia stay calm and feel relaxed. Their very presence can help reduce the effects of dementia including anxiety, agitation and loneliness.

In 2019, Four Legged Friends set up a collobration with a alternative provision school called Teenage Works and a local carehome. This includes weekly visits with children and a range of animals. Loneless and disconnection from society is a common challenge in the care system and the animals have provided an opportunity to engage the elders and for them to spend time with children.
